Nick Bisson

GROUP SCOUT LEADER

Started as a Cub at 4th Banbury, moved to 9th Banbury following house move in around 1975? Went to Scouts at 2nd Banbury as there were not any Scouts at 9th. Did several years of service as a Scout at the Scout shop working with Trevor and Janet Parry.

Stayed at 2nd until old enough to be a Venture Scout when joined Bannesburie RGVS.

Was a member of Banbury Service Crew helping out at 8th Banbury and assisted sometimes at 6th too. Been involved with the Tour de Trigs for many years as walker initially completing 30 miles as a 15 year old Scout & the whole route when 16. Was part of rigging & communications crew for 2 years and then moved on to be part of closing team  and in 2007 was Rescue Leader.

Appointed as ASL for Grimsbury in 1996, left in May 1997 following a change of job.

Have worked for many years with the Guides, being part of the staff at their County Camps in 1995, 2000 & 2005 and also getting to the Anglia Region International Camp in 2003.

Was presented with a 'Thanks Badge' by in 2005 and am an Ambassador too

A Milk Boy

2. What is your favourite Holiday destination?

Switzerland

3. What outdoor achievement are you most proud of ?

Canoeing from Portsmouth to Isle of Wight

4. Who was your favourite teacher and why?

No idea, didn't go much!

5. Who is your sporting idol?

Richard Fox

6. What gadget could you not live without?

A bottle opener

7. What is the maddest thing you've done in a car ?

In the Fire car at Donnington Race circuit, a big red jag, delivered a radio mike to the commentary point at Starkeys Bridge

8. When did you first fly in a plane and where did you go?

To Switzerland with my to be wife 23 years

9. What is your favourite joke ?

Too rude to say and too long to type

10. What is your favourite seaside resort ?

Bournemouth

11. What is your favourite film and why?

Stripes, I do a good impression of 'Harmy Training' ,shows how working together can make even the impossible achieveable
