Geo-caching is organized as outdoor activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container (usually a tupperware or ammo box) containing a logbook. Larger containers can also contain items for trading, usually toys or trinkets of little value. Geocaching is most often described as a "game of high-tech hide and seek", sharing many aspects with orienteering, treasure hunting and waymarking. Geocaches are currently placed in over 100 countries around the world and on all seven continents, including Antarctica. As of March 8, 2010, there are over 1,007,477 active geocaches over the world

Light of Peace - Luce del Pace
A couple of months ago straight after JOTI/JOTA an Italian Scout group from Padua in Italy sent out a request to all their JOTI/JOTA (Jamboree On The Internet/Air) contacts asking for as many Scout Groups as possible to send in their Message of Peace to form one big message.
A video was produced combining all these messages of peace and was used in Padua during their annual "Light of Peace from Bethlehem" ceremony and reception
The Italian Scouts have sent out a link today so that you can view this truely international video in which 1st Grimsbury Scout Group feature.
Apologiies for the excessive use of Google Earth on behalf of the Italians, but the first section shows how the light has travelled from Bethlehem to Padua, and Google Earth does fly over Grimsbury on a couple of occasions. If however you are impatient our bit happens just after the Swedes at 15 minutes: 15 seconds.
